Local officials in Farah said at least 15 people were killed and 35 others were wounded in a traffic accident in the province on Friday.
Nasir Mehri, spokesman for Farah governor, said the incident took place at around 5am Friday morning in Bakwa district when a passengers’ bus hit a truck on Kabul-Herat Highway.
He said the wounded were taken to a local hospital in Bakwa district, adding that some of those wounded are in critical condition.
This comes after a sharp rise in traffic accidents in Kabul-Herat Highway. Officials and residents said damaged roads and carelessness of drivers are main reasons behind an increase in traffic accidents in the highway.
