Afghan Forces Reportedly Suffer Casualties In Farah Clash

Reports indicate that an attack by the Taliban in Farah province has left more than a dozen Army soldiers dead but local officials have not commented on the report so far.

Abdul Samad Salehi, member of Farah Provincial Council, said the fighting occurred in Gulistan district in the Farah province in which 20 Army soldiers were killed. 

Meanwhile, Farah police spokesman Mohibullah Mohib said that at least 50 drugs processing centers belonged to the Taliban were destroyed in airstrikes in Bakwa district in the province.

He said that more than 18 Taliban militants were killed in the airstrikes and 25 others were wounded. 

Shah Mahmoud Naeemi, member of Farah Provincial Council, said that more than 50 civilians have been affected in the airstrikes, but Mohib rejected the claim.
