At least fifteen Afghan citizens arrived at the Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul on Wednesday after being deported from Germany, according to Afghan officials.
This comes after the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas announced Afghans who had illegally entered the country would be sent home.
Last month Germany deported 21 Afghans.
Turkey has also launched a similar process, deporting hundreds of illegal Afghan immigrants.
Two weeks ago, at least 324 undocumented Afghans who were rounded up in the Aegean province of İzmir, were deported to Afghanistan.
Turkish police also detained 49 undocumented Syrian migrants in the Balıkesir province.
Balıkesir’s coastal districts are among the main illegal routes the migrants use to go to Greece, particularly to Lesbos island.
Turkey has been the main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of a civil war in Syria and escalating insecurity in Afghanistan.
