Truck Bomb Attack In Kabul Leaves 10 Dead

At least 10 people were killed and 29 others were wounded in a truck bomb attack on a military installation, G4S compound, in Kabul on Wednesday evening, the Ministry of Interior confirmed.

The Interior Ministry’s spokesman Najib Danish said the attack took place at around at 6:30pm on Wednesday after a water tanker loaded with explosives detonated near G4S compound in Pul-e-Charkhil area in Kabul’s PD9. 

He said four attackers stormed the compound following the explosion.

A security guard, who wished not to be named, told TOLOnews that one of the attackers was alive until early Thursday morning. 

Residents and eyewitnesses said some houses in the area were damaged in the attack. 

Some of wounded who were taken to Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital said five of those injured were employees of a private company, located in the newly built industrial parks in Kabul’s PD9.  

Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The G4S British security company which is based in London has also confirmed the attack on its branch in Kabul.
