Muqur District Police Chief Killed In Roadside Mine Blast

Ismail Khan Shokori, the police chief for Muqur district of Badghis province, was killed in a roadside mine explosion on Tuesday afternoon, Badghis police said Wednesday. 

Provincial police spokesman Naqibullah Amini said that Shokori was travelling to check security checkpoints in Miranzayee in the southern part of Muqur district when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb.

One of his colleges were also killed in the blast, Amini added. 

According to Amini, security in Muqur and other districts in the province are under the control of government security forces. 

So far no group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
