Nine Civilians Wounded in Nangarhar IED Explosion

At least nine civilians, including two children, were wounded in an IED explosion in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday morning, local officials confirmed.

The incident took place in Chaparhar district of the province after an IED was detonated at a recreational area, provincial governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khoghyani confirmed.

“One of the wounded is in critical condition and all the victims have been taken to hospital for treatment,” Khoghyani said.

However, he did not provide further details.

No group including the Taliban has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
