Pakistan Funds Daesh/Taliban Against Afghanistan, Say Experts

Pakistan continues to pursue its hostile policies towards Afghanistan by supporting militant groups in their war efforts against the country, a number of Afghan political commentators said on Thursday.

They claimed that Pakistan had now mobilized the Taliban under the guise of Daesh. Other countries were also coordinating with Pakistan in funding militant groups such as Daesh.

"If there was a will to do it, we would be able to eliminate Daesh in Syria and Afghanistan. I again urge that we develop the determination to defeat the militants," military expert Ajmal Sias said.

According to political experts, militants who claim to be Daesh fighters, were in-fact the Taliban militants who have changed their flag and operate as Daesh. They receive financial and technical and military cooperation from Pakistan to destabilize Afghanistan, it is said.

Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, leader of the Hizb-e-Islami has said there are people who were neglecting the war against Daesh.

Experts argue that Daesh fighters in Afghanistan have no link with the Daesh group which operates in Iraq and Syria under the command of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

They add that Pakistan, by ignoring international pressure, created Daesh to mislead the world.

The expert views come a day after President Ashraf Ghani's national security advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, during a trip to eastern province of Nangarhar, described Pakistan as a supporter of Daesh.

"We told Pakistan that they were using terrorism against our country," Atmar said.

"If the international community tells Pakistan that it does not want something want Daesh in Afghanistan, the job will be done. For that we need common purpose," former Afghan ambassador to Britain Ahmad Wali Massoud said.

Last year, for the first time, rumors surfaced about the presence of Daesh fighters in Afghanistan.

The Afghan security forces launched their first anti-Daesh military operation in Helmand province. Over the passage of time, Daesh has extended operations in eastern regions. In its latest action, Daesh fighters attacked civilian and military areas in Kot district of Nangarhar province.

Daesh killed and wounded dozens of civilians during their offensive launched in Kot district. The attack has raised great alarm among the residents over the presence of the group in their area.

It is believed that Daesh is attempting to infiltrate other central Asian counties through Afghanistan and to get control over the drug smuggling.
