Parents Of Afghan-Turk Students Threaten Sit In Protest

Some parents and family members of students at Afghan-Turk schools warned on Thursday they will embark on a sit-in if government continues to ignore their demands.

According to them they have called on government to not send their teachers to Turkey.

One of the Afghan-Turk schoolteachers, Yulmas Aitan, has been under house arrest for the past eight months – following a crack-down by the Afghan government.

“Who has given the order for the arrest order (of the Afghan-Turk schools)?” asked Abdul Shakoor Dadras, a member of the families committee of the Afghan-Turk schools.

Committee members said they believe that handing teachers from the Afghan-Turk schools over to the Turkish government “will be an act in contravention of the law”.

“We will all stand, go out and will embark on a sit-in if needed,” Fazl Ahmad Manawi, an member of the committee said.

The Presidential Palace would not comment on the issue.
