The government of Qatar has reportedly named Saeed Mubarak al Khayarin al Hajri as its new ambassador to Afghanistan by releasing a decree on Monday.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, in a decree, named Saeed Mubarak al Khayarin al Hajri as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Qatar Tribune reported.
According to reports, Qatar has also appointed Mohammed Abdullah Obaid al Dehaimi as its ambassador to China, and Fahad Ibrahim al Hamad al Mana as ambassador to Morocco.
This comes as Doha has hosted multiple rounds of Afghan peace discussions between the US and the Taliban.
