Afghan Pottery On Global Display

Items of Afghan pottery, designed and made by Feroz Koh Institute, are currently on display at galleries in the United States, UK and Qatar.

Shapoor Faizi is an Afghan potter who has been doing pottery for many years.

He says that Afghan pottery is popular among people abroad because of its unique designs and quality.

According to Faizi, over the past several years, over 200 items of pottery have gone on display in Asia, US and Europe.

“We can make different types of products including plates and other things,” said Faizi.

Students from Kabul University’s department of arts are also being trained at the Feroz Koh Institute.

“The color that we use is 100 percent natural,” said pottery trainer Abdul Mateen Malikzada.

“Some of our products are displayed in a museum in London and some others in US museums,” said Alina Sadat, head of the marketing department of Feroz Koh Institute.
