BAZAR: Villagers To Get Carpet Weaving Looms

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) said in order to expand the carpet industry in the country, the ministry will distribute five thousand carpet weaving looms to villagers. 

In this episode host Nargis Mosavi discusses the topic with Mohammad Zarif Yadgari, deputy chairman of the Afghanistan Carpet Union.

Mosavi also discusses the decrease of people’s participation in the budget despite an increase in transparency in the past two years – as reported by the International Budget Partnership (IBP) and Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA). In the studio with her is Nasir Temori, a researcher from IWA. 

In addition, Mosavi chats with Rajab Ali Mahmoodi, a member of the Soap maker’s union, about concerns raised by Herat soap factory owners regarding the rise in the cost of raw materials.
