IEC Announces Baghlan Election Results

The Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan (IEC) on Thursday announced the preliminary results for Baghlan parliamentary elections with two women among the frontrunners.

Based on the preliminary results, following candidates have succeeded to secure their seats in the parliament:

Assadullah Shahbaz

Mohammad Azim Mohseni

Atiqullah Ramin

Mamor Ahmadzai

Mohammad Naseem Mudabir

Abdul Razaq Hashemi

Shukria Essakhel

And Nooria Hamidi

Meanwhile, Narendra Singh Khalsa has secured a seat in the parliament from the Afghan Sikh minority.

Baghlan will have eight representatives, including two women, in the Wolesi Jirga.
