Taliban’s former envoy to Pakistan Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef said a collapse of the political system in Afghanistan would not be of benefit to the country and instead there is a need to reform the present government.

Optimistic about the ceasefire announced by the Afghan government and the Taliban, Zaeef said he hopes the ceasefire is extended.
 
Meanwhile, Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada in his Eid message said the only solution to the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan is for the US to enter into direct talks with the Taliban.
