Produced by Afghan woman filmmaker Sahraa Karimi, the Afghan movie Parlika has won its 8th award at the Dhaka International Film Festival earlier this year. 

The documentary film reflects the life of Afghan famous activist Suraya Parlika. 

Karimi has obtained her Ph.D degree in Slovakia. She has produced over 30 short films and two documentaries.
