US intelligence agencies have warned that the Taliban and their affiliate groups could launch more deadly attacks on Afghanistan from Pakistan this year.

According to US intelligence agencies, although the Afghan security forces will continue to control cities they warned that the Taliban could launch major attacks against these cities, particularly Kabul.

A senior delegation from the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) has traveled to Tehran for talks with Iranian military officials, the MoD said in a statement on Wednesday.

The visit is aimed at strengthening military cooperation between Kabul and Tehran, dealing with common threats, and border cooperation, the ministry said.
