An investigation by TOLOnews found that the Pakistani military has built new facilities close to Torkham Crossing – along the Durand Line, the de facto border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Residents claim that Pakistani forces have continued fencing the border areas and that sometimes they enter areas that have Afghan security outposts.

President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday met with a Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua and discussed the Afghan government’s peace offer to the Taliban, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.

Ghani has also officially invited Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to visit Kabul.
