The High Peace Council (HPC) on Wednesday said that all necessary arrangements for the establishment of a peace negotiating team have been completed and that it will be finalized before the upcoming Geneva Conference on Afghanistan.

All necessary arrangements have been made on behalf of the government and the political parties to create the peace negotiating team and the plan will be finalized before the Geneva Conference, said the HPC.

The US Forces and Resolute Support commander in Afghanistan Gen. Austin Scott Miller visited Ghazni province on Wednesday and said that the US and its allies will continue to support the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANDSF) alongside the efforts for peace negotiations with the Taliban.

He said that Washington is trying to find a political settlement to the war in Afghanistan, but he maintained that the US and foreign forces will also try to decrease the level of threats against the people.
