Afghanistan Football Federation won the award for aspiring member association of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for 2017.

Afghanistan was nominated for the award in the same category with Guam Football Association.

The Independent Election Commission (IEC) asked the Presidential Palace, also known as ARG, to introduce a new commissioner within the next 20 days.

According to the election law, the term of the leadership of the commission has been completed as they were selected one year ago. However, members of the IEC have decided to carry on their activities with the current leadership – Maliha Hassan and Wasima Badghisi as deputies and Abdulbadi Sayyad as secretary and spokesman of the commission – for the next 20 days.
