Abdul Jabar Qahraman, an election candidate from southern Helmand province was killed in an explosion at his office on Wednesday morning, local officials confirmed.

The Minister of Interior Wais Ahmad Barmak on Wednesday said an adequate number of government forces have been deployed across the country to ensure safety around elections on Saturday.
