The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Sunday said public confidence in the electoral process was badly damaged during the crisis following the 2014 presidential elections and that the commission will do everything possible to rebuild the trust in the process. This came after it announced the election timeline for parliamentary and district council elections scheduled for October.
