Annual Robotic Exhibition Held in Kabul

Students of Afghanistan Robotic House, a private training institute, on Saturday showcased robots they have developed at an exhibition in Kabul.

Saturday’s exhibition under the theme of ‘Creation at a Glance’ was the third such exhibition to have been held in the country by the academy.

The students who have developed the robots are also students of Afarinesh Institute where they go to school.

Mujtaba Rezaie, manager of Afghanistan Robotic House, said the exhibition is held every year in order for the students to display their work.

“This exhibition is held every year in November. In this year’s exhibition, fortunately we have good achievements. The robots are examples of our students learning activities and their efforts to build robots,” said Rezaie.

Afghanistan Robotic House officials said in the near future a 33-member group of their students will go to Indonesia to take part in an international robotic competition.

“Our students participate in international robotic competitions every year. So far, they have made good achievements and gained good positions,” Amina Rahimi, deputy head of Afarinesh Institute said.

The students said some of their robots have the ability to identify injured persons, can carry loads of goods at airports and can carry soil and play games similar to football.

Some of the students also worked on models to help solve brain games. Zahid Attaie, a student of the robotic house has the ability to respond to nearly 200 math questions in eight minutes without using a calculator.

“These brain games have good affects. By doing the games, we can respond to math questions quicker than a calculator,” said Attaie.

Afghanistan Robotic House started its activities first in 2007 in schools in Herat and then at a number of schools in Kabul.
