Afghan, Tajik MMA Fighters Compete In ‘Fight Night 05’

The fifth round of Fight Night, a mixed martial arts competition, was held in Kabul on Friday night where four Afghan fighters took on four Tajik counterparts.

Three Afghan and one Tajik mixed martial arts fighters defeated their rivals.

The event was held by MOBY Group in collaboration with the Snow Leopard Fighting Championship (SLFC) organization.

The first fight was between Ahmad Suhail Hassanzada from Kabul and Ferdaws Nazarov from Tajikistan who lost after sustaining an eye injury.

The second fight was between Delawar Dawlatov from Tajikistan and Afghan MMA fighter Abdul Ahad Farooqi. This fight ended after three rounds. Dawlatov won on points.

“Afghanistan is like Tajikistan for me. I feel like home here,” Dawlatov said.

“I apologize to all Afghans for not winning this fight,” Farooqi said.

The third match was held between Zaki Rasuli from Afghanistan and Alimboi Halamboyev from Tajikistan.

Rasuli also won on points after three rounds.

“I dedicate this victory to all Afghans,” Rasuli said.

“The referee did not act when Zaki was committing violations,” Halamboyev said.

The final fight was between Wahid Nazhand and Hamid Taipan. Nazhand won the SLFC championship belt.

“I made a lot of effort to win this belt. I had many fights. I thank my trainers for their efforts,” Nazhand said.

Fight Night is held once every two months.
