ICC 2019 World Cup Trophy Arrives In Kabul

The ICC 2019 World Cup trophy arrived in Kabul on Wednesday morning as part of its global tour. 

The trophy was welcomed in Kabul by ACB officials, players and cricket fans. The trophy has already toured a number of countries. 

“It is a proud moment to all Afghans. I believe that one day our champions will win this trophy and will bring it to the country,” the ACB chairman Azizullah Fazli said. 

“We still have time and the team is also good and we have hope to win the trophy," Afghanistan National Cricket Team’s Captain Asghar Afghan told TOLOnews. 

The trophy would be on display on Wednesday afternoon at the Darul Aman Palace in the west of Kabul city. 

The coveted trophy is on three-day tour in Afghanistan. It will be displayed in Kabul, Bamiyan, Herat and Kandahar province. 

The 2019 World Cup One Day International (ODI) is the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales, from 30 May to 14 July 2019. 

Starting its journey from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the trophy tour will cover Oman, the USA, the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany before arriving in England and Wales on February 19.
