The Afghan National Cricket Team leg-spinner Rashid Khan has been moved to the second spot of the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings of T20 bowlers and eighth in ODI Player Rankings.

Rashid is only one point behind top of the ICC’s new ranking list for bowlers, Pakistani Imad Wasim, who has 718 pints. 

Hamza Hotak, Afghanistan’s slow left-arm orthodox bowler is in 13th place and Mohammad Nabi is in 19th spot.

Rashid is currently playing for Australia's Big Bash League (BBL) and he made a stunning debut and won man of the match award for Adelaide Strikers on Friday.

"It means a lot to Afghanistan to play in such a big league," Rashid told reporters after the match. "And to then get player of the match - it was a dream to play in this league, so it's a proud moment for my country, for me, for my family."

Rashid is the first Afghan to play in the BBL Twenty20 competition, and starred in the Strikers' 53-run win over Sydney Thunder in Adelaide, late Friday.
