TAKANI: Parties Accuse Govt Of Engineering Elections

A number of Afghanistan’s political parties accuse government of manipulating the upcoming parliamentary elections adding that this is the reason they are closing the Independent Elections Commission offices in provinces.

The parties said government should assure them that a biometric system will be used on election day, otherwise they will continue to close election commission’s offices.

The United Nations meanwhile said the closure of election commission offices will create problems regarding the date for elections.

In this episode of Takani, host Fawad Akbarzai discusses the topic with the following guests:

Fazl Rahman Oria, a member of the Grand Coalition of Parties of Afghanistan

Zabihullah Sadat, deputy spokesman for the election commission

Abdul Subhan Misbah, deputy head of Afghanistan’s Lawyers Union
