MEHWAR: ‘Sharp Rise’ In Crime In Kabul Discussed

Kabul police department said Saturday that in the past week over 60 criminal incidents have been recorded in the city, which included the murder of two people.

On Thursday, two people were gunned down and killed and another wounded in Kabul’s PD5, police said.

According to them, the shooting had been gang related and was triggered by an argument between a group of armed men.

Police have arrested the wounded man in connection with the incident.

The interior ministry meanwhile said crime dropped by 40 percent last month after the ministry started a program to confiscate illegal weapons and banned the use of vehicles with blacked out windows.

In this episode of Mehwar host Masoud Malik discusses the topic with Abdul Khaliq Zazai Watandost, a member of the Kabul provincial council.
