In this program host Sadaf Amiri has interviewed the First Lady Rula Ghani to discuss a recent report of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) on the US’s ‘Promote’ program for Afghan women.

The First Lady also discusses Afghan women’s role in politics, decision making and peace.  

The US spent $280 million on the program intended to help tens of thousands of Afghan women enter the country's work force and gain promotions since the commencement of the program in 2015. 

SIGAR says the program has helped somewhere between no women and roughly 60.

The First Lady says her office has had an advisory role in the program and that it has not been involved in its implementation.
