In this program, host Siyar Sirat has interviewed Barnett Rubin, US’s senior expert on Afghanistan and South Asia, about the ceasefire between the Afghan government and the Taliban. 

Mr. Rubin says he welcomes any move which stops bloodshed in the country. He stresses the need for extension of the ceasefire and talks between the involved parties of the conflict.

He says this is the first time in 40 years of Afghanistan’s war that parties involved in the conflict have agreed on a ceasefire.
