GOFTMAN: Spate Of Ministerial Resignations Discussed

Over the past month, at least four cabinet ministers have resigned from their posts while Ali Ahmad Osmani, the former minister of water and energy, was fired from his position on the orders of President Ashraf Ghani.

This comes after the National Unity Government (NUG) under Ghani and CEO Abdullah Abdullah have failed to fill their cabinet since taking power in 2014.

In line with this, questions are raised over what are the key factors behind the recent spate of resignations and do these resignations have anything to do with the scheduled parliamentary and presidential elections?

In this episode of Goftman, host Partaw Naderi discusses the topic with the following guests:

Moeen Moeen, member of the leadership council of Mehwar-e-Mardom-e-Afghanistan party

Nabi Misdaq, a political analyst

Abdul Karim Arifi, the deputy head of High Investment Council
