Taliban Commander Killed In Kunar Airstrikes

At least 51 Taliban insurgents were killed during Afghan forces ground and airstrikes in Kunar province on Saturday, the Ministry of defense said.
 
The ministry said that 51 insurgents including Taliban military head in Asmar district of Kunar, Mawlavi Hazrat Ali, Taiban’s shadow district governor for Asmar district, and Mawlavi Emran, Taliban’s district shadow governor for Ghaziabad district of Kunar province where killed during Afghan forces ground and airstrikes.
 
During the operations insurgent’s weapons and hideouts were destroyed, MoD said.
 
The ministry did not say anything about security forces or civilians casualties.
 
Taliban’s spokesman confirmed the death of two fighters but rejected claims of the death of top commanders.

Security force officials also said at least two district shadow governors were also killed in the operations.
