A suicide bomber riding a motorcycle attacked the house of Kandahar Police Chief Gen. Abdul Raziq on Saturday evening, a close aide to Raziq confirmed.
He told TOLOnews that the explosion happened in front of Raziq's house, but no one was hurt in the incident.
According to the source, following the explosion two other gunmen started firing on security forces guarding Raziq’s house, but both were killed in the shooting.
Raziq’s aide said two policemen also were killed in the shooting.
In another incident, Paktia’s Ahmad Aba district governor Hazrat Mohammad Rodwal was wounded in a car bomb that targeted his convoy on Saturday evening.
Paktia police said Rodwal and three of his bodyguards sustained injuries while one other guard lost his life in the explosion.
