Govt Forces Missing After Baghlan’s District Falls To Taliban

Over 100 government forces are missing following the collapse of Tala Wa Barfak district in Baghlan province on Tuesday, head of Baghlan Provincial Council Mohammad Safdar Mohseni said.  

Some key officials including district governor of Tala Wa Barfak and district police chief are also missing following the militants attack on the area, Mohseni added. 

He said some government forces vehicles have been seized by the Taliban following the clashes. 

He added that at least six soldiers were killed and 13 others were arrested by the Taliban during the fighting.

Tala Wa Barfak is deemed a key district in Baghlan which shares a border with Bamiyan and Parwan provinces.

Taliban has claimed that the group has captured the district on Tuesday afternoon.
