Afghan Youths Develop Eight Software Packages

A group of Afghan youths, including girls and boys, have developed eight software packages better administrative affairs since 2015 when they first emerged as young software developers in Kabul. 

Members of the group said all their software packages have been developed based on the needs of the society and are aimed at overcoming corruption and improving administrative affairs. 

The group said a number of their software programs are being used by some companies and institutions. 

“A production company can resolve all its problems using this software. They can do all their calculations and can save anything in this system,” Mustafa Mohammadi, a software engineer, said. 

“Our software can be used in mobile phones. People can collect information about the children working on streets. Also, we have a web application that can manage children and also have another system for donation,” Yama Yari, a software engineer, said. 

Owner of a small software engineering company Omar Mansour Ansari said lack of awareness has affected use of new software packages in the country.

“In general, people in Afghanistan has less awareness about technology, especially those who are in charge of decision making,” Ansari added.
