60 Clubs Compete In Cricket Selection Tournament In North

A tournament has kicked off in the north of Afghanistan to select teams for the Afghanistan Cricket Board in different categories.

At least 60 teams from Balkh, Baghlan, Samangan, Badakhshan, Takhar and Kunduz provinces are competing in the tournament.

The tournament will continue for one month.

“The competition is at club-level. It is aimed at selecting the best players and helping the youth to explore talent in cricket,” said Noor Alam Farid, head of the cricket board office for the northern zone.

“I am a cricket player from Balkh province. I want to serve my country through this sport,” said a member of a Balkh team.

The tournament will select players for U19 and U16 teams.
