ACB Announces Squad For Emerging Teams Asia Cup

The selection committee of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday announced the squad for ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018. 

Addressing a press conference, Assadullah, member of the selection committee, said the team was selected based on fitness, team balance and condition.

Batsman Najibullah Zadran will lead Afghanistan team as captain in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Assadullah said. 

He said the players are Najibullah Zadran, Ihsanullah Jannat, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Nasir Jamal, Darwish Rasooli, Shahid Kamal, Azmatullah Omarzai, Ikram Alikhail, Karim Jannat, Zia Akbar, Fazal Haq, Wafadar Momand, Zahir Khan and Qais Ahmad.

The event will be held in Sri Lanka and Karachi city of Pakistan. 

Afghanistan are placed in Group A along with Sri Lanka, India and Oman. 

Group B includes Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and UAE.

Afghanistan will play their matches against India in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo on December 7, followed by matches against hosts Sri Lanka on December 8 and Oman om December 10.
