Afghanistan Beat Bangladesh 1-0 In World Cup Qualifiers

Afghanistan’s National Football Team defeated Bangladesh 1-0 in a thrilling match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Tajikistan on Tuesday. 

Afghanistan’s captain and midfielder Farshad Noor netted the only goal of the match.

The 24-year-old's successful effort in the 27th minute ended up sealing all three points for the hosts in Tajikistan.

Before the match, Noor said that “we want 100 percent to win this match and I think our team is stronger than Bangladesh.”

The Afghan squad is playing in Group E against Qatar, Bangladesh, Oman and India.

With Tuesday night’s win, Afghanistan is now in 3rd position in the group with three points. Afghanistan lost it’s first match to Qatar.

Qatar is ahead of Afghanistan and Oman with four points after beating Afghanistan and getting a draw against India on Tuesday night. Oman is second in the group with one win and will play it’s second match.

India with one loss and a draw is in 4th position while Bangladesh played two matches and lost both of them.

Afghanistan will play it’s next match against Oman on October 10.
