Afghanistan Beat Zimbabwe By 28 Runs In T20 Tri-Series

Afghanistan National Cricket team defeated Zimbabwe by 28 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday, claiming their eighth successive win in the format against Zimbabwe.

A 107-run partnership in 6.4 overs between Afghan batsmen Najibullah Zadran (69*) and Mohammad Nabi was the difference between the two sides, as Afghanistan posted 197/5 in their 20 overs.

After posting 197 for 5, the Afghanis restricted their opposition to 169 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

The 28 runs win takes them to the top of the points table heading into Sunday's match against hosts Bangladesh and the match gets play at 4:30 pm UAE time.

Zimbabwe have now played eight matches against Afghanistan and they have lost all of them. The bowling looked rather listless under fire the batting couldn't get anywhere close to the target of 198 leaving the team in danger of early elimination.

The win ensured 11 consecutive T20Is without a defeat for Afghanistan - incredibly it is the second time they have hit that number and only Australia have gone better (12).
