Girls Futsal Qualifying Tournament Ends In Kabul

The Istiqlal Futsal Team won the futsal qualifying tournament’s final match in Kabul on Tuesday. 

With this win, Istiqlal Futsal Team and two other finalists – Ayenda Sazan and Tawana futsal clubs – entered the Women’s Futsal League of Afghanistan, which according to officials will be held in the near future. 

The final match was held between Istiqlal and Tawana and ended 5-2 in Istiqlal’s favor.

“We will hold national futsal matches after this tournament,” said Khatol Shahzad, chairperson of Women’s Futsal Committee.

Mona Amini from Istiqlal was declared best player of the tournament. 

Meanwhile, Manizha and Fahima from Tawana and Ayenda Sazan teams respectively scored the most with 10 goals each.

“I am excited that I got this title in this tournament,” Amini said.

“Such tournaments can improve women’s futsal in Afghanistan,” said Zahra Dildar, a member of Tawana Futsal Team.

Eight teams from Kabul clubs attended the tournament which started last week.

This comes after 20 men’s futsal teams participated in a futsal tournament in Kabul last month.
