Sunrisers To Get 2nd Chance At Finals Against Kolkata

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday night by 25 runs putting them in Friday’s second qualifier for finals.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday in Kolkata – a match that will determine which team goes through to the finals on Sunday against Chennai Super Kings.

On Tuesday night, Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers by two wickets to book their place in the IPL finals.

“The game turned tough for our bowlers towards the end but we will bounce back and come up stronger to bring the cup back home,” Sunrisers tweeted after the match.

At the match, Rashid Khan, Afghan leg-spinner once again produced his absolute best. Not only did he keep the run scoring in check, he picked up the two most crucial wickets in the form of MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo.

He registered bowling figures of 4-0-11-2 and was outstanding in the way he bamboozled batsmen.

Unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side.

In the match, Sunrisers players wore black armbands in memory of those who lost their lives in blast at cricket stadium in eastern Nangarhar earlier this week.

This gesture from the 2016 IPL champions Sunrisers was also a mark of respect for their star spinner Rashid, who hails from Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) also took to Twitter and thanked the Sunrisers team for their gesture.

"Thank you to @SunRisers for showing sympathy towards the victims of the tragic incident in Nangarhar province by wearing black arm bands in today's match," ACB wrote on its Twitter page.

Rashid has played 15 matches in the tournament so far and claimed 18 wickets.
