National athletes from different sports and officials marked the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of Haidari Taekwondo Association in Kabul.

The association was founded by grand master Mohmmad Akbar Haidari in Kabul.

Senior officials from the Directorate of Physical Education, the National Olympic Committee and Afghanistan’s sport champions attended the ceremony on Friday.

“I hope I can do more efforts to improve Taekwondo and other sports in the country,” Haidari said.

“This association in 43 years has trained hundreds of taekwondo players in Afghanistan,” said Rahim Yusufi, deputy head of the National Olympic Committee.

Other participants of the event appreciated the association for its efforts to develop taekwondo in Afghanistan.

“I hope that more efforts should be done to improve taekwondo in Afghanistan,” said Ahmad Roman Abbasi, bronze medal winner in an Asian competition.

The association has so far trained many well-known athletes such as Nisar Ahmad Bahawi, Mahmoud Haidari, Ahmad Roman Abbasi, Ziaullah Aimal Babakerkhel, Nasir Hotaki and dozens of other champions.
