Women’s Football Team Leaves Kabul for CAFA Champs

Afghanistan’s Women’s National Football team left Kabul for Uzbekistan on Monday morning where they will take part in the CAFA Women’s Championship 2018.

The competition will kick-off on November 23. Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will take part in the eight-day tournament.

Ali Jawad Ataye, former assistant coach, and Yousuf Kargar, former coach of the national team, has taken charge of the women’s team.

Kargar said: “We had our preparation for the championships and we had many training sessions,” adding that “we hope to have achievements in the upcoming matches.”

All teams will play in group matches and the team with the highest points will be declared winners.
