The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, John F. Sopko, called on the Afghan government to reassure the public that fair and transparent elections will be held.
 
Addressing the  4th EU Annual Anti-Corruption Conference in Kabul on Tuesday, Sopko said the money pledged to Afghanistan for elections should not be used by individuals for election campaigns or for illegal purposes.
