Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrived in Kabul on Monday and met with President Ashraf Ghani. 

Widodo arrived at Hamid Karzai International Airport after ending a two-day visit to Bangladesh. 

This is the first state visit of an Indonesian president to Afghanistan since that of former president Soekarno in 1961.

Widodo and Ghani addressed a joint press conference after their meeting where they announced that Jakarta will cooperate with Afghanistan in infrastructure and economic development projects.
