Meshrano Jirga (The Upper House of Parliament), on Sunday summoned security officials over what they said was the increase in insecurity in the country, discriminatory treatment of officials in the security and defense institutions in the recruitment process and for corruption in these institutions.

A number of Senate members said that due to the increase of insecurity they do not believe that the election will be held this year.
