Families who fled their homes in Mirza Olan village in Saydad district and moved to the center of Sar-e-Pul province on Monday urged government for justice against their attackers.

The villagers said attackers who were holding white and black flags opened fire on civilians in Mirza Olan.

Afghan security forces have arrested a member of Pakistan-based Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) terror group during fighting in the Janikhail district of Paktia province, officials of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced on Monday.

The suspect from Pakistan’s Punjab province entered Afghanistan to fight Afghan government forces after completing his military training in Pakistan.
