Threats Close 1000 Schools Across The Country

Security threats across the country have forced the closure of more than 1000 schools across the country, the Ministry of Education.
 
The ministry spokesman Mujib Mehrdad said on Wednesday that  17482 schools exist in the country and among them 1006 schools are closed due to the security threats and thousands of students deprived of education.
 
Mehdad emphasized that the ministry will distribute 12000 parts of land in several provinces for the teachers in coming solar year.
 
The Ministry of Education said recently a study has found that only six million Afghan children are at school – contrary to the 11 million as previously stated by the former government.

Afghan government officials from former president Hamid Karzai’s administration repeated frequently that over 11 million Afghan children were attending school.
