The Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of the Parliament) on Wednesday suspended four MPs for continued absence in parliament.
The decision was taken during the general session of the parliament.
The suspended MPs are Ahmad Behzad, Parwin Durani, Fareshta Anwari, and Bashir Ahmad Tahyanj.
According to officials, the MPs had been absent from parliament for more than 20 days and that they failed to attend their relevant commission meetings for more than 45 days.
No details were however given as to how long the suspension will be.
