A number of government officials have accused local officails in the southern province of Helmand of handing over the center of Sangin district to Taiban militants.
 
Soldiers who served in the volatile region for years have claimed that government forces have evacuated Sangin’s center and have been deployed miles away.
 
But, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) claims that Sangin’s center is still under the control of government forces.
