National Interests, People's Interests Should be Addressed: Omari

The deputy Minister of Interior, Mohammad Nabi Omari, stressed that in addition to Islamic governance, attention should be paid to issues of national interest and the wishes of the people in Afghanistan.

Addressing a seminar held to increase the capacity of the Interior Ministry's spokespeople, Omari acknowledged the flaws of the government but stressed that these challenges will be solved soon.

“We do not want a government that will only serve Islam and put aside the country and the people. We want a government to both keep our faith and benefit the people,” he said.

He accused the Western countries of provoking religious issues in Afghanistan.

“Sometimes blasts happen to our Shia brothers. I hope this does not happen again. I say it from here, it is the plot of the Americans,” he said.

Omari also said that no other government will be allowed to rule in Afghanistan but an Islamic government and “we are ready to make any kind of sacrifice” in this regard.

The Director of Media Affairs for the Interior Ministry, Rahmatullah Kakazada, said that seminar will help spokespersons in providing information to the people and media family.

“It is your responsibility to build the relations of the government and people. You may encourage the governors and security commanders to engage with the people and meet them, he said.

The seminar will last for four days in Kabul.
