Kabul Municipality Established 28 New Intersections Since Political Change

The Kabul Municipality said it has built 28 intersections at a cost of 38 million Afs in Kabul since the resumption of the Islamic Emirate.

Officials from the Kabul Municipality said that the purpose of these intersections is to reduce traffic congestion and beautify the city of Kabul.

Nematullah Barakzai, a representative of the Kabul Municipality, said: “The construction of intersections proceeded in areas of Kabul city based on traffic analysis conducted by relevant municipal departments. However, as we speak, two more intersections are currently under construction.”

Qader, a resident of Kabul, said: “The intersection you see has greatly reduced the previous heavy traffic, under the large-scale efforts of the Islamic Emirate.”

Some residents of Kabul, while welcoming the construction of the intersections, said they need to be standardized.

Abdul Razzaq, a resident of Kabul, said: “We ask the Kabul Municipality to construct the intersections to standard specifications to reduce congestion.”

Homayoon, another resident of Kabul, said: “Traffic signs should be installed, and the very large intersections should be scaled down, and furthermore, drivers should not create disorder.”

Previously, the Kabul Municipality announced the reconstruction of 15 recreational parks in various parts of Kabul, stating that the work had begun last year and was recently completed.
